About NMMS 2015- National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme NMMS 2015- National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scholarship scheme which is being offered to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to continue the study at secondary stage to arrest the droput rate after Class 8. The selected students are awarded Rs. 6000 per annum (Rs.500 per month) to study from Class 9 to Class 12 in Government, Government aided and local body schools. Under NMMS Total Scholarships awarded are 100,000 and there is quota of scholarships for different states/UTs. There is reservation as per State Government norms. Every state has its own deadline for NMMS Application Form but for most of the states the deadline for application is August 31, 2015 The students are selected on the basis of NMMS exam conducted by the State Governments/UT administration. NMMS Exam 2015 is scheduled to be conducted on November 8, 2015 and November 22, 2015. There is no Stage 2 of NMMS Exam and State Government will select the students for award of scholarship. State wise NMMS Scholarship Application Form are given below and stuents can download them. Scholarships are disbursed by the State Bank of India directly into the accounts of students on quarterly basis. The Scholarship is paid for a maximum period of four years.
Each State/UT will will conduct their own test for selection of students. The State Level Examination may consist of the following two tests. Mental Ability Test (MAT) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Mental Ability Test: Questions will be based on verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive abilities like reasoning and critical thinking. The questions in the scholarship test may be on analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures etc. Scholastic Aptitude Test: Questions will be based on science, social studies and mathematics as taught in classes VII and VIII. Duration of the Test: 90 minutes Each No. of Questions: 90 Each Marks: 90 Each Each question carries one mark.
